Below are 10 businesses that closed their doors in Citrus Heights in 2021.
Stein Mart. Starting off the year in January 2021, Stein Mart within the Birdcage Marketplace announced clearance sales of their merchandise, in preparation for the store’s closure. See prior article: Stein Mart to close store in Citrus Heights; clearance sales underway
Pier 1 Imports. Also announcing closure in January was the Pier 1 store at 6245 Sunrise Blvd., which closed along with several hundred other company stores nationwide.
Mom’s Floral Shop. A floral shop at 8252 Auburn Blvd. was instructed to close in October after a longstanding dispute with the landlord who claimed the tenant failed to pay nearly 12 months at the spine rent. Cut it Up. A little barber shop across from the former Sylvan Junior high school lot closed its doors in 2021, amid the pandemic. The shop has since reopened with new owners and a different name.

Car Czar. The Car Czar auto repair shop at Greenback Lane and San Juan Avenue was transferred to a new owner and was renamed within the summer. For more, see story from August: End of the era for Citrus Heights auto shop
Costume Junction. The most popular costume shop closed its Auburn Boulevard location in June, citing struggles due to the pandemic. PizzaRev. Closing out the year, PizzaRev at 5450 Sunrise Blvd. closed its doors. The business first opened in 2021, carrying out a remodel of the retail center.
